How will you know what yoga is?

"When creation began, it was marked as the Satyug. In Satyug, Yoga primarily was gyan (not knowledge). We differentiate knowledge from gyan – while knowledge is limited to the physical brain and the 5 senses, gyan is embedded in the deepest core of the physical and etheric self. To prove this fact, I would like to quote an interesting case study. Mr. William Sheridan from New York went for a heart  transplant. Before the surgery he was an ordinary office-goer, but post the surgery he suddenly started to sketch and paint. He himself was taken by surprise and when research was done, it was found that the heart that was given to him belonged to an artist  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/ health/article-381589/ The-art-transplant.html  This proves that consciousness is present in each and every cell of the body and in all layers of cell. [Cell is not a modern-day concept. Rishi Atreya gave the concept of anu and paramanu many millennia ago in the Sankhya philosophy. He described ...

What is the ultimate goal of life?

"The ultimate goal is very individualistic. For someone it may be not wanting anything, somebody just wants to make money, for someone else goal of life may be to have fun, party and enjoy life. So all of us depending on our state of evolution have a goal, every individual's needs and requirements are different depending on the level of evolution that's why each one looks different. So the goal of life is individualistic. That's why I say it is pointless to come to me if your goal is any of the 5 senses, don't come to me, nothing will happen. Come to me only if the goal of your life is over and above this, then I can take you somewhere."- Yogi Ashwini http://dhyanfoundation-quotes.blogspot.in/

Purpose Of Life

"The purpose of life is simply to experience what you have desired. This desire could be anything- desire to have a particular sweet or desire to paint depending on the individual. So there is nothing wrong in experiencing whatever you desire, after all that’s what you are here for. But the problem comes when you get stuck in one desire. In Yog, we do not suppress any desire, we go beyond it. Your Guru makes you experience your desires but at the same time allows you to go over them. So while you are experiencing them simultaneously you are going beyond. A yogi can have any physical desire manifested by simply a thought but he does not do so because he has found a still higher pleasure. It is something like when you are given a better quality sweet then why would you go for something of lesser quality. Don’t forget that apart from the 5 senses there are subtler senses and higher worlds that can be accessed, but for that you need to begin Yog. Let me tell you with certainty, tha...

"Spirituality" ???

In our times "spirituality" has become a fad. This aint surprising one bit simply because such is the pace of life that one doesn't even finds the time to "live life". Infact, life for most has reduced to weekends.  So in such a scenario a new business opportunity has presented itself and that is the " inner peace" business which involves various spiritual upliftment courses that bring your mind and body to perfect health and lots of other "benefits" (essentially a one stop solution to every problem that you have) And because there is demand for such "products" so the supply too is available in abundance. Spirituality has always been the mainstay of our country. So many great beings (Kabir, Sri Raman Maharishi, Sri Ramakrishna... the list is endless!) have shown us what spirituality actually means, but did any of them put a fee to their teachings or did any of them ever had courses-beginners, advanced...?!!! Its time we put to ou...

Guru Shishya Parampara

When a guru accepts somebody as a shishya he takes complete responsibility of his or her. Then the shishya is monitored by the Guru not daily, not hourly, but every moment… the Guru literally carries the shishya on this path. As no two fingerprints are the same, as no two genetic codes are the same, so are no two beings the same. Understanding and realising this fact the rishis of the Vedic era propagated the Guru-shishiya-parampara, or the one-to-one relationship of the shishya with the Guru. And this is what is followed at Dhyan Foundation, under the guiding light of the Guru, Yogi Ashwini. In the Rudryamala it is said, ‘The fool who commences japa and tapas by reading books instead of receiving instructions from the Guru acquires nothing but sin; no one can save him. The Guru alone can, in a single moment, destroy the mass of his sins….’ " In Yogini Tantra it is said, “It is be...

YOG'A'?

"Yoga"- this four letter word has become a very popular term in recent times and everyone seems to think that they know what it is. This is because of the extensive commercialization of the subject. infact, so much so that it has become a multi-crore business- with all kinds of "products" available in the market and all 'forms' of yoga and some of the recent "innovations" like Hot yoga, Power yoga are amusing,to say the least. (a simple google search will be enlightening here!) But do you really know what yoga is ? Even those who know its literal meaning that is "union" seem to not give it any further consideration. Majority think of yoga as -"doing some asans and breathing exercises to keep your body fit and mind relaxed" Yog (or Yog'a') is in reality the ultimate science- science of the self. It is by Yog that you discover who you really are. Mind you this is no philosophy, it is THE most practical subject. It...
