The worst thing we can do to our selves is by getting addicted to things that cause us more trouble than joy...addiction to drugs, smoking, alcohol, shopping or simple day to day things may create big problems in life...how does one know that he/she is addicted ? It is when you are not controling the indulgence but the indulgence controls your actions..I am sure all the people who tried to kick the butt a thousand times and failed miserablly, or the people who made a new year resolution of giving up drinking but broke it the very next day, exactly know what i am talking about.Lets face it we as youth are facing these challenges let me share an incident to elucidate what I am saying,One morning about 11' o clock I went to Saket to eat something and I was shocked to see students of barely 15 years of age were smoking their lungs out on their regular bunks...and i instatntly thought why am I shocked to see that? am I not one like them as i am addicted to so many things that eat away my health and peace of mind.. Is this a disease ? if yes how can one cure this. what makes one person vulnerable and the other one sronger to not fall into it ?? these r the questions that I kept thinking of..who can help geting these answers?
"The difference between meditation and dhyan is that between shoonya (this is not to be confused with shoonyata, here it refers literally to zero) and poorna . Dhyan is state of complete awareness-inside and outside- it is a Poorna state, whereas meditation is a big zero. After her discourse she made the viewers do dhyan and sat herself in dhyan as well. When it was over, she came out with some sort of jerk in her body. Anybody who knows the st...
Addiction is not a disease but it can definitely result in one.Addiction of anything, be it substance abuse or of a person is detrimental to ones physical and mental well being,as one tends to easily go overboard, overlooking their harmful effects...One thus ends up falling prey to their indulgences completely mesmerized in the short term pleasures that one enjoys ...
ReplyDeleteWe can ofcourse get rid of our addictions through regular practice of Yoga under the guidance of a Guru.It results in a gradual decrease and an eventual elimination of your desire to indulge...Over a period of time, through yogic practices, the heavier things of life, things which are not good for you, leave you. A by-product of yogic practices is a light body, a clear and active mind, great physical and mental strength and balanced emotions.
I want 2 ask that u said if we practise yoga under the guidance of a GURU,how can we find our GURU?who will help us to find the right directions?
ReplyDeleteTo find a guru ..it requires ample amount of good karma's of so many lifetimes.. Regular practice of snatan kriya as given by yogi Ashwini ji helps one get in touch with the guru. With all of this we need to ensure that we keep improving our Karmas by doing charity ( selfless) and using our lives for better purpose. To know more please visit www.dhyanfoundation.com
