Relationships Explained The Yogic Way

We all know that we come in this world alone and go back alone. We will not be accompanied by anyone, no matter how close or dear we are to them, or they to us. Pause a minute and think: the majority of our problems stem from our near and dear ones. That is, relatives, immediate family, enemies and friends, not from someone unknown? You will also find that the root cause of arguments, fights, emotional turmoil, congestions, broken relationships and business losses are also these very people. So it is safe to conclude that for the greater part of our lives we get troubled, not by absolute strangers but by people who are known to us. Your relationship with every individual is a result of basic principle--as you sow so shall you get--it is a mere give and take. This give and take is a pay-back of our karmas from our previous births and from this lifetime. You get associated with people because they need something from you and you need something from them too. Without an...

A comprehensive guide to the world of Anti Aging!

In the present times everyone, from the scientific community to the people who are obsessed with looking younger to a casual on-looker, is so greatly involved in understanding the process of aging or more specifically anti aging. Who wants to age after all ? But for amount of curiosity it has generated what is shocking is that none seem to be vaguely be on the right track. After conducting extensive clinical trials on human and animals alike, the scientific community has never been able to zero in one that "one" idea which will seal the fate of future human generations, or so to speak. To one point for looking at the solutions in meteorite dust to red wine till finally when the idea of food occurred to them, the journey has been quite an unsuccessful one to say the least!  Not so for the big corporates though! As you grow older they seem to be getting richer!  But all these doubts and negativity surrounding the subject disappears when one reads the book-...

'I-me-myself'...

From morning to night and from night to morning all we think of is about 'i-me-myself', my career, my marriage, my bank balance, my social status, my fame, my family, my friends... perfectly normal right? Wrong. This 'my' thinking reduces our thought process to such a tiny level that we are always thinking of ourselves and thus our problems seem too big to us and we are unconcerned about things that are happening around us- things happening to our environment, our society, our planet and where things are actually heading....if only we could incorporate small things in our life- like keeping a bowl of water for the thirsty birds, or feeding a stray dog or a cow in our locality while going or coming back from work, helping any random person or animal in any way possible.. you will start to experience a change in your thoughts and no problem would seem too big. Dont believe me...perfectly fine.... try it out yourself!!! Also take a moment to think.... we spend every day...

I Love you- Do I?

The three most commonly used words, maybe in close competition with I Hate you, one generally follows the other, so we can't be very sure. but heck, to begin with how many of us understand what Love is? As a famous Calvin comic strip goes, is it just evolution kicking in to make sure that our species continue?  Or is it something, which is above the relationship of give and take? What is it? Well, as usual too many questions and just one person to turn too. Asking the Guru himself. In the words of Yogi Ashwini ji - "In a human being, the anahad chakra, located at the center of the chest cavity, governs the need for love. There are very few, who with yogic practices like Sanatan Kriya or with karmas of previous lives are able to form connections at the level of anahad. The closest example of a connection made at this level would be the unconditional love of a mother towards her baby. Most adult relationships are limited to connections of the lower...

Why are our thoughts more negative than positive?

Question- Why are our thoughts more negative than positive?  Yogiji- That is because you are selfish. Selfishness breeds negativity. But if you are not selfish, you will not be in this world. A shooter training for Olympics had come to me few years back. I told him that he should go for the competition with a detached mind. Not to win a medal, but to give in his best without thinking about the result. His wife was listening to the conversation and demanded, 'What kind of an advise is this? This way he will never win. He needs to inculcate the killer instinct rather than becoming saintly.' So when this shooter went for the game, he won the medal once, but was never seen on the international arena ever again. If you attempt anything with high levels of detachment, you will be successful. But if you approach it with selfishness, you will fail even if you achieve it because you will not get satisfaction. The 'killer instinct' takes you nowhere. The ones who focus on just t...

Who made me think ?

Funny feeling it is when all of a sudden we would lose ourselves in the world of thoughts and find ourselves wasting precious joules of energy getting angry, jealous, happy, sad, sometimes naughty in our dream world. Ever wondered why we think, where we get these thoughts? Do all people get the same thoughts? Well, I decided to do some research and google my thoughts.  Remember a time when researching meant bugging your grand mum with not so comfortable questions. But technology has advanced and everything we need is just a click away. Cool isn’t it? Even though our original google is just a call away.  Anyway I was told that “ I was feeling lucky today” so I continued. Some links that I browsed said that these were because some neurons were fired while others directed me to some fancy brain maps ! All seemed to explain what happens when I think, but none why I think what I think. Not satisfied with the answers modern science was throwing at me, I decided t...
